Joe has over 30 years working as a television producer, print journalist and public relations and advertising professional. He’s worked for The August Wilson African American Cultural Center, WQED Multimedia, Jazz Bridge, the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, Kelly – Strayhorn Theater, Acrobatique Creative, Beach Advertising and Mullen Advertising and PR. Former clients include the Pennsylvania Convention Center, Highmark Blue Cross & Blue Shield, the Pennsylvania Lottery, Philadelphia Gas Works (PGW), Clear Channel Communications, PECO, United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania, WURD Radio, the City of Philadelphia, and L’Oreal Cosmetics. As a television producer, he’s produced programs that have aired on NBC, PBS, Bravo and A&E. He’s had bylines in the Philadelphia Tribune, NEXT Pittsburgh, the Philadelphia Daily News, HealthQuest: the Publication of Black Wellness and was the former Associate Publisher/Contributing Editor of the social justice journal – the Real News.
Politically, he’s worked for Pennsylvania State Sen. Hardy Williams, organized for President Barack Obama in 2012, Hillary Clinton in 2016, and John Ossoff and Rev. Raphael Warnock in 2020 – 21.
Joe’s the Founder and former Curator of the Black Bottom Film Festival and lectured at the Westmoreland Museum of American Art for their African American Art in the 20th century film series. He is the Co-Creator and Executive Producer of the award – winning – The Adventures of Teddy P. Brains: Journey into the Rainforest, and produced Science Mission 101, which won the 2010 Best Children’s Program award from the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters and was nominated for an Emmy Award.
Currently, Joe works as a freelance copywriter and engagement manager for Landesberg Design, Community Marketing Concepts, and Aloysius, Butler & Clark. He’s also completing an anthology of short fiction.
